SOMA Action Congratulates Tucker and Hall on Primary Victory, Thanks McGehee for Bold Stand

SOUTH ORANGE/MAPLEWOOD, NJ - SOMA Action wishes to extend our congratulations to Cleopatra Tucker and Garnet Hall on their victory in the District 28 Democratic primary. Running for public office requires immense dedication, resilience, and commitment to community service. We look forward to their contributions serving the district.

Our gratitude also goes out to Frank McGehee, who delivered a strong showing in both Maplewood and South Orange. His brave challenge against the county line ballot system has shown his commitment to fair and equitable democratic processes. His courage in this race has added significant value to the political discourse.

As a progressive organization, SOMA Action remains committed to advocating for democracy reforms such as ranked choice voting and other measures that promote fair and democratic election processes. We look forward to engaging our newly nominated representatives in discussions around these issues.

Our work continues as we strive to foster open dialogue, enhance our democratic institutions, and champion progressive cause. As always, we extend our deepest gratitude to all those who stepped into the arena to run for public office, and to our community for their active participation in the democratic process.

We stand ready to work together, regardless of election outcomes, to ensure a vibrant and inclusive democracy that serves all of our residents.
