How Recent Supreme Court Decisions Impact Church-State Separation and The Religious and Civil Rights of Minorities

SOMA Action’s Religious Justice Committee invites you to join a discussion with Randall Balmer, Dartmouth College John Phillips Chair in Religion and prize-winning historian and Emmy Award nominee, on Zoom.

Professor Randall Balmer, author of Bad Faith: Race and the Rise of the Religious Right, joins us to share insights about the right-wing movement behind recent Supreme Court cases that use the pretext of “religious freedom” to violate a critical tenet of democracy: the separation of church and state.

How does the religious right’s use of “religious freedom” to consolidate power and the actual lack of religious freedom for minority religions, such as Judaism and Islam, impact us and our neighbors? What is the connection between this and white supremacy?
