Dr. Khyati Y. Joshi speaks to the ways Christian privilege is embedded in U.S. policy, politics, and society. Her book maps the origins of Christianity's often unseen social power and the entwinement of Christianity and Whiteness in American identity.
It prompts us think about an urgent question: how America might become a "more perfect union" – a truly pluralistic democracy.
Dr. Joshi, professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, is a scholar and thought leader on the intersecting issues of race, religion and immigration in the United States. Her writings, speeches, and course work focus on promoting cultural and religious pluralism in the United States. Dr. Joshi is also co-founder of the Institute for Teaching Diversity and Social Justice (IDSJ), which offers institutes, workshops, and resources.
